Thom’s material mixes personal stories, one-liners, and silly guitar-based musical comedy. He also loves clowning and will occasionalling throw some physical comedy into the mix.
In his earlier years Thom was so shy he could barely make eye contact with strangers or pick up the house phone when it rang. In school he didn’t have the confidence to ask the teacher to go to the toilet and he wet himself! It was meditation, not stage time, that helped Thom overcome his social anxiety, break through that stage fear and eventually become a performing artist. Learning to observe emotions gave him the foundation to embrace silence, awkward tension and read what the audience wants to deliver a better performance for them.
Thom started comedy in 2014 in Leamington Spa and Birmingham starting with music open mic nights, strumming out awkward comedy songs to unsuspecting crowds. That blend of musical comedy remains a key part of his sets today, especially when the mood calls for something daft, dirty, or both. He went on to perform a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016, and appeared on stages across the world in Singapore, Berlin, Prague, Budapest and Warsaw before eventually settling down in Krakow.
Thom has lost count how many gigs (including open mics) he has done but it must be over 250. He gradually evolved from a nervous amateur into a confident performer often headlining or doing paid support slots.
In 2020, Thom won the Krakow Stand-Up Comedy Award, and in 2021 his joke about Polish dogs wen’t viral across the world (and it’s still doing the rounds and getting ripped off on social media).
Thom is not sure what the future holds for his comedy career but if you want to catch him perform, he will usually be at English open mics in Krakow with a smile on his face.
